Frequently Asked Questions

What brands do you install?

We install all EV charger brands, including: Tesla, Emporia, ChargePoint, Lectron, Wallbox, and Grizzle.

What's the difference between a hardwired and plug-in charger?

A plug-in charger can be plugged into a 240v wall socket (just like your washer or dryer), while a hardwired charger is directly connected to your home's electrical panel. Both are safe and effective, but the right option for your home depends on desired install location, the specific hardware that you purchased and how flexible you want to be in the event that you move homes.

If you have a charger that can be installed either way, your electrician can discuss the benefits during your service.

What do I need to know about my electrical panel?

Homes built after 1970 are usually capable of having an EV charger installed without any modification or upgrades required.

But don't worry if you're not sure your electrical panel can handle an EV charger; we'll check that for you during the service. If it can't, we'll tell you what needs to be changed and include it in your estimate.

Can I choose where my EV charger is installed?

While you can express your preference, the final location will depend on factors like electrical infrastructure, safety regulations, and cable length.

How soon can the installation be scheduled?

Installation scheduling varies based on electrician availability and any preparatory work required, but typically, installations can be scheduled within a week or two of booking.

How long will the installation process take?

Typically, a Level 2 home charger installation takes 2-4 hours, but this can vary depending on the complexity of the installation.

Do I need any permits or inspections for the installation?

In many locations, a permit is required for the installation of an EV charger. We'll inform you if this is necessary and will handle the permit process for you.

Inspections are typically required as part of the permitting process and typically occur within a few days after installation. Your electrician will walk you through expectations for the inspection process.

Is there a warranty on the charger and installation work?

Yes, most chargers come with a manufacturer's warranty that covers defects.

Additionally, our installation work is backed by a separate warranty for 1-year.

Home is where the charge is.

Well, it will be soon! Get your free estimate and let’s make it happen.
